BYV_Trubb Releases "Fuck Tha Police" Music Video
BYV_Trubb is one of those local artists that keeps one foot firmly planted in Atlanta and another in Athens, with a brand that makes him unmistakable wherever he goes. Outside of his extensive hip hop ties, BYV_Trubb is a fashion entrepreneur that designs and customizes upcycled jean jackets and other clothing, too. You can check out his website for all things BYV_Trubb.
If you’ve been keeping up with his releases, the album T.R.I.L.L. TESTAMENT came out at the end of August 2021—and if you haven’t been keeping up, then you can go stream it on all platforms now. Last Sunday, BYV_Trubb released the music video for a single from this album, “Fuck Tha Police.” The video was directed by Aura Is Forever and PressPlayDigital, starring some familiar faces to the local scene such as Clip Art’s Arizona Zimmerman.
Keeping with the theme of other songs on the album, like “Elijah McClain,” there’s a brief scene of police brutality woven into the colorful yet gritty footage. BYV_Trubb uses his platform to bring awareness to discrimination by carrying the listener into a world of raw personal experience. Released in 2020 with fellow rapper Blesstheplaya, “I Can’t Breathe” also painted a vivid picture of police brutality and the race-driven cultural atrocities that have been highlighted over the last couple of years.
