Rockoutuno Releases EP "ZUKO"

Local Athens artist Rockoutuno has had a busy year working on music and recently released his latest EP ZUKO on all platforms Christmas Eve. Earlier this year, he re-released the five-track EP “Genesis” on SoundCloud. He’s also been featured on AyoPaco’s 2020 album PLANET PAC, and he will be featured on RYN’s upcoming EP.

ZUKO follows suit as another short five-track EP, but Rockoutuno builds a cohesive atmosphere on this project that stands out from his other music.

“I want listeners to take from this that no matter what you're going through, you're going to get through it,” said Rockoutuno.

“INTRO” sets the expectation for a hyperpop hip-hop project, heavily intertwined with an anime aesthetic. This seems to ring true for the EP as a whole. Although the energy starts low, it quickly picks up with high, bouncing energy in the rest of the tracks. “LMAO” and “NEVER CHANGE” have an indie quality to the details highlighted in the beats while “ANTHEM” and “PLASMA” rely more on traditional club sounds, particularly in the bass. The instrumentation in the beat selection is really interesting and adds a dynamic layer to the songs. For the time of year, this fits well for new year’s party music.

Visuals will be coming out next year to accompany this project. Rockoutuno is also working on a pop album to come out in 2022, which feels like a natural development from the undertones in this EP. The artist states that he wants to show people that he can make all kinds of music, and the ability to create variety and move into different sounds can be seen in his work so far.
