Paron Jamaal Releases "Mozaiq" Album
From his Philadelphia roots to the many years spent in and around Athens, Paron Jamaal is a classic artist that lives and breathes hip hop as a culture. But he’s more than an artist—he has an entrepreneurial spirit, both in and out of the music industry.
Paron has released multiple mixtapes and EPs, but his first official album Mozaiq came out last month on all platforms. It took a full year to create with all original production, but it reflects what the artist considers to be thought provoking and meaningful.
The album’s aesthetic encompasses a “golden age” sound. Paron switches between playful flows and stoic storytelling for an interesting, and polished, listening experience. The production quality is smooth and rich, providing a true background for the vocals to ride on without one distracting from the other.
“When people listen to the Mozaiq album, I want them to feel like they've learned something about myself, or maybe they catch a jewel or two throughout a certain song,” said Paron. “I don't want them to forget what they heard, as if it's just another album. It's the picture I'm painting that I want them to hold on to. Life, struggle, success, and everything in between.”
Life for Paron consists of owning his own commercial cleaning and private security businesses in addition to running a music label (Work For It) and creating as an artist. Long work days mean that these areas of life often meld into one another throughout the day, and each job requires drive and stepping up as a leader. He sets an example as someone who really “does it all” and continually works toward a better future.
“It's all intertwined and knotted up together—entrepreneurship, running a label, building a real brand that can last. Everything feeds off one another,” said Paron. “I've used buildings in my videos that my service company has cleaned; I've built bridges in the music industry that have put me in position to gain contracts for my service company as an entrepreneur.”
The biggest lesson he’s learned is to have patience, continue to build, move forward, and always be ready for opportunity. If you don’t keep pushing and trying, then the opportunity won’t be there. The proof is in how he runs his businesses and uses his network. Outside of the music, Paron has released two short films and plans to release a third within the next year.
More music videos tied to the Mozaiq album are on the way, and new music will also be coming. Be sure to follow Paron Jamaal for updates on Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
